Just out of intrest - do all employers do compulsary drug tests? I just read a lot of threads about people having drug tests for interviews and on a job and so on. It does not seem to happen at all in the UK except for the Army/Raf/Navy and so on ... maybe Im wrong?

Once they agree to hire you, and if the company has drug tests (not all do), your employment is contingent upon passing. They aren't going to spend money on drug tests for interviewees - just those that are hired. Certain industries give drug tests to long-term employees as well.

Some companies used to give lie detector tests to new employees as well, but it is now illegal in New York.

Most employers will drug test you if they have to have insurance on you, Aka..you drive a truck, or can get injured on the job , or some1 else can get injured because of you, etc..etc.
