Well, its obvious that not all the Iraqi's want us there. Even many of those who are glad Saddam is no longer in power probably resent the fact that they are an occupied country. Of course the Bush administration wants us all to beleive that people are lined up to kiss the soldiers asses but we all know this isn't the case.

On the other hand, I do feel for the soldiers. They're not there by their own choice. They're just doing their job. And, contrary to what Bush wants us to believe, not everyone in Iraq loves the soldiers. Its not like WWII where you know where the enemy is and as long as you're not on the front lines you can kick back with the locals. Being a walking target 24/7 really has to grate on the nerves. They never know when or where an attack will come from. So yeah, I can see how they'd get pretty pissed at kids throwing rocks. Who's to say one of those rocks isn't a grenade. I doubt they want to shoot kids, they just want to be able to shoot at anyone taking an aggressive stance against them.
