Ed Rosenthal and Mel Franks books are great. They brought a lot of knowledge forth. DJ Short also has a great deal of knowledge on breeding. Obviously the man who brought us Blueberry and all the Delta9 strains knows what he is doing.

DJ Short's book is good but was published on CannabisCulture some time back... all of it. Ed's spin-off book company just reprinted it and bound it. So don't be dissapointed if you find it to be exactly the same article that you read. I recommend Chapter 15 of The Cannabis Grow Bible for breeding info and Marijuana Botany from Robert Clarke.
