What I want to know is why did the mother send the kid to school in the first place?Don't get me wrong, the principal was out of line. But the girl was so out of control that the mother needed the police to come and handcuff her. Plus she needed medication, presumably for behavior problems. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that dragging an out of control, handcuffed, kid to school and dumping her there isn't going to win any parent of the year awards.
According to the mom "It breaks my heart that a kid can get treated like that. There's got to be someone to speak for that 8-year-old girl," Shit bitch, you were the one who told the police to handcuff the kid. Pretty typical of American society these days. Parents raise spoiled, out of control, little brats and then bitch at others when the shit hits the fan. Yes, the school authorities responsed inappropriately to the situation. But who caused it in the first place??

I agree with Fingzi. I can't imagine calling the cops on my daughters, or handing them over to the school system or other government institution. People think I am some kind of religious nut when I say I homeschool, but it is worth it not to have to put up with the system. It has nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with politics, safety, and keeping my life private. Mostly it is a matter of trust, and I don't trust just anybody to be responsible for my kids... well until they are old enough to be responsible for themsleves.
My kids are better adjusted, and it isn't because they were born without behavioral problems. I've had my troubles with them, they are strong willed, hard headed, and downright crazy at times. I know what it is to deal with unreasonable, ticked off, or hysterical kids, but as soon as they got old enough to listen to reason, and be taught, they quit doing that stuff.
My kids are very well behaved now, but they are also free thinkers, and if necessary... well I'd pity the cop who tried to cuff either one of my daughters against their will. Some guy tried to grab my sixteen year old after work, in the parking lot, but she just punched the guy. He fell to the ground, and she kept walking as if nothing had happened. She didn't even look back. She knew he wasn't getting up. Kids have to know how to protect themselves, and that it is OK to do that in the right circumstances. Public schools teach the opposite. They are raising sheep for the slaughter.
If that woman had raised her daughter, instead of sherking her responsibilities off on Day Care, School, and relying on medication to replace parental guidance and supervision, she wouldn't have these kinds of problems... I gather that the mom turned her child over to authorities? I can't imagine doing that. My adivice to her would be if you aren't going to raise your kids, and take responsibility for them entirely, then don't have them, or give them up for adoption. If she's already having this much trouble and the child is 8 for god sake, try to find a decent loving home for this neglected child, cause she obviously doesn't know the meaning of the word Mother.

you're teaching your kids responsibility, self defense and how to think on their own...the feds don't like that...i'd say you're a terrorist...
kids who are homeschooled win the big spelling bees and geography bees, are incredibly intelligent, and become incredibly successful...you're doing a good thing.
