I was on the phone with her, she's a good, close friend of mine.

Plans went to shit because I broke up with her more or less. But she wanted to come over, so I said okay. A tsunami can't possibly destroy the Earth. Tsunamis are local events whose devastation is confined to coastal regions.

Global Warming is not likely to have that big of an impact by 2010, and even in the long run isn't a threat to the survival of the planet as a whole.

In the highly unlikely event that we're contacted by an extraterrestrial species in the next few years, they'd have to be a species that developed interstellar flight before killing itself off, and I have a hard time believing a species that did that would just annihilate us on first glance. I mean, if we discovered some kind of primitive intelligent life on Mars, would we just nuke the hell out of them? I'd like to think we'd try to study and conserve them.
