In the post-industrial age, there is no need to have so many children.

i dont agree with this man

changin the problem of place... how stupid.. seriously

instead of spending BILLIONS of $$ to explorate space, they could alrdy have built thousands of way to make clean energy (eolian energy, hydroelctricity, solar energy) and they could erase poverty

i think this would be the solution

think about it man, then again its only my point of view

How would reducing the poverty level have anything to do with lowering the population?

First of all, all our energy problems could be easily solved if we just legalized hemp and used it as a fuel source. Check it out: http://www.digitalhemp.com/hemp/html...9/ech09_02.htm

As for poverty, that's not going away until capitalism does. As long as there is capitalism, there will be rich people and poor people. No amount of money can make poverty go away. Only socialism can do that.

We could easily provide food, shelter and medical care for every human being on Earth if we just stopped spending so much time, money and effort on building bombs, missiles and guns and put it into helping humanity instead. As the great Bill Hicks put it:
Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defences each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace.

but the process of making the children is so FUN

you are right though...if each couple on earth where to have only one child, the population would be halved in one generation...

There are more reasons the government has for not switching to other fuels... relations with other countries is a major reason for the oil dependencies. Also, many jobs and a great portion of the economy depend on oil. It would be a hard switch on the economy from fossil fuels to a less pollutant and more efficient fuel source, but what's the economy compared to the condition of the planet?
