Usually when I believe something and somebody believes something else i'm happy to admit that there is an equal chance of me being wrong as there is them. I support the death penalty only because I hope it will make others think twice. I don't belive in "an eye for and eye" per se. I just believe that the best deterrent is a punishment that is genuinely feared. I lived for a while in a foreign country that is frequently criticized for its harsh, and quick, treatment of criminals. While there, I lived in an incredibly crowded city of 14 million people. Say what you want about the death penalty, but I could walk down any back alley at any time of night and not have to worry about my personal safety. How many big U.S. cities can you say that about?

It's really weird I cant decide if I like the death sentance or not I mean in one way yeah good they deserve it but in another it's like killing that person and killings bad, I used to support it but I dont know anymore.

It costs over $20,000 per year to keep an inmate. Instead of keeping up a murderer I would rather my tax dollars helped out some single parent down on their luck, or maybe some kids operation....I can think of a dozen things easily!
