CFL Grow - Need CFL/Grow Experts! BOBBONG??!

Oh ya, and bending, all that does is give more light to the side branches, increasing the side branches in size, and some in yeild.

Ok thanks everyone, il post in the ghettogrow thread more updates etc soon.

Im still alittle confused about bending. You want me to the the top of my plant down, so its attached somehow at the ditr it came from? Wont my plant snap from doing this, or get damaged? And once its bent do you ever make it straight again? And if u bud it bent, wont the bud only be good on the side of the plant that the light goes on to, the under side wont be getting any light?

no you bend it slightly sideways.. so instead of growing up it is on an angle

its called LST - low stress training.. dont bend it any farther than 90 degree MAX.. if you leave it tied at 90 or higher it becomes heavy bondage and it can stress your plant.. just bend it slightly enough so that your secondary growth has better light exposure... your secondary branches will grow up and away from the plant, leaving you with several smaller main colas... it will increase yield just a little , but more importantly you will have more uniform potency.. no trashy little popcorn nugs from the bottom part of the plant

so instead of looking like this : | .. your stem will look more like this: /
    you get the idea

as long as its not like this: -- then its cool

People train plants all the time by forcing stems horizontally. What are you talking about?

You aren't going to hurt her as long as you don't break or bruise anything. Just use common sense, bend, and tie. It really isn't rocket science.

bending the plant in any way causes stress
hence the term LOW stress training
bending it horizontally is basically a scrog.. and it ceases to be low stress

perfectly doable, but every time i do it i get males.. maybe i got bad luck.. but i get better ratios when i dont tie them down that heavily :twocents:

I was under the impression (and still am) that "low" stress denotes any stress that doesn't actually cause harm or cause the plant to temporarily stop growth to recover. You can even go beyond horizontal or do the bending in stages (i.e a little per day) if the stem is woody or packed with carbohydrates. A SCROG is when you train a plant under a screen.

So... what are you talking about?

all the scrogs i have seen involve bending the plant at 90 degrees and letting it veg until the secondary growth fills up the screen... you can bend it that far in LST, i just prefer not to is all
