BRILLIANT now i have another thought sparking and brain power ensueing question for all to feast their intelectual minds upon ...... why do ppl assume goth and emo are the same when in fact we are nothing alike we goths are notthe depressed lonely lifeless sacks of self loathing tears you ppl conceive us to be those are the emos i think (not sure but i think) anyhow as euphoric said (im simplifying this here since i hate typing) we have respect for all a deep respect we only say what we truly feel is true(redundant huh?) in the most conveinient definitive retrospect a true goth is more like a hippy than anything else we accept others for being themselves so why must others shun us for the same?

i don't shun emos, you just have shit music..try playing guitars a bit slower, with less overdrive and having less whiney american teen voices....like a say, just the music...

i dont listen to whiney emo bsonce again buzz you have failed to read my posts accuratly whats with all these assumptions? i listen to the old school metal gods since we are on that subject Metalica Ozzy Judas Preist that was great music i agree modern music has no soul but this isnt a music thread and lets not let it be jacked as such

Goth in its simplest form, is a subculture. A group of people who feel comfortable within each others company. There is no specific thing that defines what you need to do or be to fit into the goth scene (except of course the implied black clothing). People in the goth scene all have different musical tastes, follow different religions, have different occupations, hobbies, and fashion sense.

orrrrr..... A Goth is just a person so desperate to get noticed he/she will redefine there own personality and beleifs in order to conform to a certain group. The only true non-conformers are the ones who develop everything they are without trying to apeal to a certain group of people. If a person naturally has less in common with others, but still has some things in common because that person doesn't care what self-proclaimed non-conformists say about it, that is a true "Goth."

this doesnt apply to just goths, i respect other ppl for who they are and their opinions, but i'm not a Goth, you do know that whatever you say that seperates a goth from other ppl actually applies to everybody (meaning you dont have to be a goth to respect ppl or be different), as far as i can see the only thing that seperates a goth from any other random person is the fact that goths wear black clothes
