2) He is probably about as likely as you to be a direct genetic descendant of these people. Jews, more than most other peoples, have migrated and interbred extensively with other populations over the millennia.
3) So what? I might be a direct descendant of the person who invented fire, but I'll never know. Even if I was, it wouldn't really matter much. It's who we are in the present that matters, not who our ancestors were. That kind of thinking only leads to racism and xenophobia.
