Why does my plant go limp under red spectrum light? i'm growing lowryder under a 250 watt hm , but when i add warm whit cfls (red spectrum) they get droopy. when i swithch back to mh it's all good. why is this?

Hello Mctuffet Well I'm affraid I'm going to be no help whatsoever here

That's what happened to my present grow as well. About a week after switching to HPS on the 12/12 cycle they just went limp and droopy, I put the MH back in and they picked up.
Anyway I tried the HPS again and they drooped again so I gave them a while under the MH and they picked up again
However since being back under the HPS yet again they seem to be ok.

Although there was quite bad condensation problems at the time in the growroom, I have been unable to say what the actual cause of the problem was ????

Told you I was going to be no help at all .............. sorry

Oh, it was thought that it might have been "overwatering" that could be the cause .............. I just don't know

funny, Ive got 2 new seedlings under a warm white cfl, I think this gives out a red light spectrum. they are drooping quite a bit to the point that im worrying, I cnt think what it could be other than the light, They hvnt been overwatered or given ferts yet

Maybe the light is to close in comparason

thanx mand for the thought and sharing. i switched to hps and that is causing it to droop as well. it's not over watering. iknow that for a factr becaseu i cnas swtich back and forth between hps and mh and see the change happen.

yes sir. that is exactly what it looks like. is that normal? i've never grown indoors before so i don't know stuff like that.

i dont know if its normal but i will go out and get a 400w mh tomorrow. beings that other people see the difference between the 2 bulbs.

Hello Mctuffet , Hello Mobay .................... Well I've never known it before but this grow has been effected by changing the light.
Infact after putting the MH back in the plants perked up no end after just one day


I have no idea what the problem was ????, and they are ok now under the HPS

It's been a real mystery

hello mand, i will switch over tomorrow, going to take your advice. its sad to see them looking so down. are you using 400w mh? for your veg.
