seek the LORD you will find him
I didn't say he will punishe anyone. God do not show /him/her/itself for who knows what reason. Maybe God wants you to discover him on your own. And as far as hell goes, I don't believe in it. You should know that cuz you read my other posts. Stop taking certin things so literal. The Bible is only a book after all made by man. Find God on your own.

Why? Why should I waste my time seeking something for which there is no evidence? Please explain that to me.

Well you don't have to if you don't want to, I don't really care weither you do or not, its your life. I just choose to look for a meaning. The point of my living. I do not accept that we live to die. Not looking for something cuz it has no proof is closed minded. Explorers found North America whent hey thought the world was flat. They took a chance of falling off the edge and look what they found. A little enlightenment of the world around them. They could have been like you and choose not to look for riches and hold back on exploring because of death by falling off the edge but they didn't. They had no proof of that land but they found it.

Yeah, but North America is a real thing that they could sail to. God is an abstract concept, that apparently has no influence upon what I can observe with my senses. How then, is it possible to obtain any information about it? Please tell me how you got your information about it, without making shit up or copying shit other people made up.

You can consider it whatever you would like. There was no winner in my mind. You never changed my views and I never changed yours.
I said die as a way to find out, not a treath (making sure you knew that). If nothing happenes after you die and thats all, then way to go you were right, but if you are reborn or taken by God then I was right. We will never know while we live.

I hope you are right and there is an afterlife, but I just can't see how that could be, given the fact that it seems the mind is just a product of the brain. We can track blood flow in the brain during cognitive tasks, and examine what cognitive functions are damaged when certain parts of the brain are injured. We notice how people's behavior changes dramatically when certain chemicals interact with the brain. We can correlate different types of brain waves with different modes of consciousness. All this paints a pretty clear picture: consciousness is dependent upon the brain, and we can even pick out what elements of consciousness are dependent upon what areas of the brain. When one part of my brain is damaged, I forget how to speak. When another part is damaged, I can't recognize faces. When a different part is damaged, I can't remember anything before the injury. So what happens when it's all damaged, and the whole brain ceases to function and begins decomposing? The only logical conclusion that I can find is that all these cognitive processes end and the phenomenon known as consciousness does too. It will be just like the billions of years before you were born.

The afterlife is a tricky thing. You do not know weither their is one or not till you expecience death. But in this sence we will never know. If their is no after life we will not be able to say "I was wrong" cuz were dead. You said before that I could not see the idea of no God and of God but I can. Before, I saw it that God never existed because I thought God was an invention to help people deal with death. It is easyer to think there is more after life then rottin' in the ground. I changed my beliefs a while back cuz...well I wouldn't be able to tell you why because I still do not know. I fear death, I admit it, but I see God as more then a place to go after this life. I can't fully explain it because I find it hard to put some of my beliefs in words that can be understood.
