    slavery

i have alot of black friends and i just feel that they think "america" owes them something. when i try to explain how others were slaves too, not just blacks, they don't wanna hear it. it's hard to change any1's belief system or way of thinking, so i just let them be. we barely talk about it anyway so it's all good.

White people have more in common with black people than rich people. Most white people worked the fields with the brothas. Most whites aren't related to slave owners, but the vast majority of Americans of African ancestry in the United States are descendants of the 400,000 black slaves forcibly brought to the New World prior to 1860.

i hope i'm not the only black person here. (well, half but it still counts.) don't let your friend speak for all black people. the majority of black people aren't like that. we 'got over' the slave thing and the shitty treatment until the civil right era. yeah, every race has had some form of slavery in one form or another. but the thing about our slavery is that it's pretty new. only about 250 years old in america. (earlier in northern europe and south america.) in america, the country they currently live in. how long do you it took jewish people in egypt to get over it? you remember when that vietnamese diplomat came to seattle ? the vietnamese hasn't 'gotten over' vietnams treatment towards it's own people. they wanted him to get the fuck out.

so basically, most blacks have gotten over it, but a little more time is going to be needed for slavery to become a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, slavery still exists in the world. The young sex slaves and child laborers that are making parts of asia famous, certainly a good portion of the prostitution that goes on here in the us is tantamount to slavery, and out and out no holds barred slavery in south america, the middle east, asia and parts of africa...so we should, if anything, be sorry that we have done little or nothing to end these things in our own time. And governments, most if not all of them, still look the other way. It's getting better, I think, but there's still a long way to go.

Most of black people I have known are not particularly interested in slavery or reparations. They'd just as soon leave it behind. But there are a bevy of assholes who make a lot of money whining about slavery, and abortion and drugs and cell phones and everything under the sun. Clowns like Jesse Jackson, Bill O'reilly, etc etc etc ad nauseum are out there whipping folks up for one whiney reason or another. And they all have a following and everyone and his dog has a fucking blog now and thinks that their opinions are really important. But they are no match for the ranks of Jesse Jackson, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Moore, Bill Oreilly, and their ilk who are basically money grubbing oppurtunistic capitalists (aka...carrion eaters) who will prey on any issue that will get them a grant, donation, book deal, etc. Gotta give them credit for seeing a niche and filling it...the american way and all that. Although these folks step well outside the realm of normal when it comes to allowing the end to jutify the means.

wtf, fukk all that 'this race is more racist' bullshit, thats racism in itself fukkn azzwipes

homie i puff with down the block aint like that, dont even mention bs like that. i'm latino but i'd recognize that for life with whatever emotion if i found out my just-recent ancestors were slaves. not being upset is weird, like u have no family pride or strong empathy for blood ties for that matter. as far as our own award shows n all that, behind the color is a certain culture n its simply a celebration of that.

I'm not black, but if I were, I'd be pissed... all the time. Well, I am pissed all the time but for different reasons. First of all, I'd be pissed because people think racism is no more, when it is certainly not true. I'd demand reparations be donated to black charities. I'd also be pissed because there is so little racism in America compared to other countries, yet America and other powers do nothing. I'd be some typ of activist and the first thing on my to-do list would be to get our gov't to promote tolerance in other countries.
