I've found the best way to go is use a torch lighter and not to let up on the flame until you're done taking the hit. The smoke is HARSH, and I've heard that water pipes are the way to go.

The trip is cuhrazy. It made me think of a wrinkle in time. Reality just kind of bends for about 5 minutes.
