Hello Rastagal When That happens I just usually throw a few handfulls of compost on top to cover them back up but I'm a bit lazy

With the looks of how it's growing I think that you will need a larger pot. When you re-pot, just try not to do it in a brightly lit area...........roots don't like being exposed to light very much
Also what I read when I started growing was that the deeper pot pot is the better, it's more important than the width of the pot.
I have no idea about what size pot in gallons capacity and all that, I wouldn't have a clue how big a gallon is
I always pick a size that looks "comfortable", oh and cheap to buy
