    the suncell grow box

I have to be honest here I grew for over a year with just flourecents, both veg tubes and full specrtrum for flowering did o'k! but was always disapointed!,can you grow with flourecents sure no problem but can you get amazing results? I doubt it,most of thoses buds in thoses picks in this thread are as loose as a goose I bet!.................Flourecent lights are good for many things but turning out full quality heavy crops? I havent seen it.....but since I bumped my grow room up too #2 1000w hps hortilux and a 1000w MH for vegging wow! now I got results lol and the buds are so tight it's great!...

I suspect I should do very well in the future! of course a great crop has to do with many things other then lights but I can tell you this,if you aint got the best lights you can't get the best results.......I have huge plants with no co2 enrichment,I can only imagine what it would be like if I did add co2 lol....

But those suncell box's are a good thing no doubt but my days of flourcent lights are over!.............

but what were the details of your grow?

i have had good results with my fluoro grows, not as good yield wise as my hps grow (but that isn't any kind of comparison because the grow space / wattage etc were different), but still very good

but i used adjusted spectrum bulbs and was running over 100w psf... it was more costly than a small hid to set up and to operate... i didnt yield as much, but the buds weren't fluffy and the end product was a little better

as a solution i grow with the hps now, but i have added a couple of the flors to my setup

I thought we were gonna see 1.5 lb in 8 weeks and all i've seen is debate over floros and hps.

This is stupid. Floros are great if you are a first time grower trying to get experience. they are also goodfor close and seedlings.

For growing buds and getting all around best results nothing compares to hid lighting. end of story.

and i don'tknow about technichal details. thats fust my own experience.

in terms of yeild, yes, in terms of quality, not necesarily

under the hand of a skilled grower the difference is negligible, but for the same reason outdoor bud can usually be greater quality than indoor, fluoros come way closer to emulating natural sunlight... namely the capability to produce UV-B radiation, which stimulates trich production. no HID is capable of that, not to mention a decent spectral distribution. which is why i use a mix of fluoro and hps

there is a HUGE variety of different types of output on fluoro bulbs available, it is way more complex than just hps/mh.. if you didnt know the details of the lights you were using then you obviously didnt take fluoro growing seriously in the first place

Mightybuds should be listened to here!
The best lighting for dense heany buds is HPS with a supplementary MH...no?

i agree that it is a good idea to supplenemt hps with floro. I do the same thing. i am jsut speaking in gereral terms. as far as cost and difficulty go in set up. the hid lighting is soo much better., You cans eriously set up one light and kick ass with way less effor that floro.

thats very true... in order for a fluoro set up to compete, you need to run more power and put more time and effort into planning your lighting scheme... and if its anything more than a personal grow, not worth it, otherwise they can be very worthwhile... but you actually have to plan and research your bulbs as well, its way more than just this kind for veg and that kind for flower when you have like 10 different spectrographs to choose from

my fluoro and hps (only hps, before supplementation) grows were very comparable, but i ran about twice as much watts PSF with the fluoro, and had a single female in a 4ft. tall, 1 sq.ft. box to accomplish it lol

all im sayin is that fluoros now are not even in the same league as fluoro from back in the day before HID lights... there is no comparison to be made, unless your trying to go full cycle with one cheapo cool white or something stupid like that.... it happened, not everybody tryin to grow back then was that silly, but it did happen. HID lights are the best option for *almost* everyone... new to growing, need some crazy amount of yield, etc... for small grows, or stealth boxes that dont use a 30dB air mover screamin in the closet all night long in order to keep that damn thing cool (why i started messin with a fluoro box in the first place ), areas with heat issues or space limitations, etc...

i did my 1sq.ft. fluoro box as an experiment, for fun, and i was impressed enough with it to keep it around

I've got a 75w fluoro in my closet that used to act as a mirror light..yesterday i put a germed seed into a pot and placed the pot under the fluoro...it's common knowledge that fluoros are sufficient for younglings...but when it's time...that bitch is going under HPS. Call me stubborn..but that is what countless sources say is the best thing to do...this Static dude...who i don't really have a problem with..should make the same box but with a HPS ...AND...a fluoro! But i hope he sticks around anyway so he can show us if he's right or not.....it's good to have fresh perspectives. If this guy has done it once ...he can do it again..and again and in 8 weeks time he can show us all..if not he's a liar..but if he has done it before then he has nothing to hide from ...so if we dont hear from him we can assume he was lying.

I do NOT think you can yield that much in that amount of time..!

I don't know if he means the plants full life or just in flower!

Does he mean to yield that amount from one plant or many??
