This is what I would do...

I would smoke bud everyday for six months...then at the end of that six months I would start smoking bud again...

you should start working out. get that blood flowin'...it'll make it easier to quit.

1. Keep your mind occupied at all times.
2. Dont start thinking of weed otherwise you'll want it
3. Dont let yourself get in a situation where you've got a lot of money (when Ive got lots of money drugs seem to be a high priority)

If need be quit until you get a job (just in case of urine tests etc), I find when I set myself an amount of time to stay off weed I never achive the full time but as long as you acheive what youre aiming to before you start smoking again then at least all or any of your efforts werent for nothing.

The most Ive ever had a break for is 2 months and the first bowl I had afterwards hit me like a wall, good times
