Help / Advice please?!

I just bought a new down pipe for my bong, complete with new cone, but I wanted to use the connecter from my old down pipe: The new cone fits it, but the new connecter doesn't fit my other cones... dunno how that works, but anyway...

I can't get the old connecter to unscrew from the old down-pipe! It's stuck fast, and I've tried running it under hot water in the hopes that it would expand, or the stuff sticking them together would loosen up a bit, and I've tried using rubber gloves for a better grip on the pipe/connecter.

Any ideas what else I could try to get them apart?!

Go to the Dollar Store (or whatever they have in Wales) and get one of those "super-grip" things you use to open up bottles.

Or

Hold the lighter to it. That would heat it up faster than hot water, but be careful, sometimes it will burn ya'.

Or

Smoke a bowl out of it. It's easier to get the bowl off right after you smoke.

The Super-grip Bottle Opener (You know, those little green pads) is pretty strong. Combine that with a little heat.

No joy with holding a lighter to it, or putting it back in and smoking a cone... looks like I'm headed down the pound shop tomorrow!

Are you gonna get a bottle-opener? I take it the "Pound shop" is the "Dollar Store".

Yeah, I have a one-hitter (I only smoke alone), so it's easy to get it off when it gives me problems.

Try using some basic hand tools to get it apart, but be careful, as it may dent the material.

I don't know what your pipe is made out of, but I use to have a metal one where the connecting pieces would always get stuck together.

Try using a pair of pliars (sp?) to get it apart.

Maybe try putting it in a vice, and using the pair of the pliars to get it apart.

I found the best way to get those pieces apart was to heat it up really good with a lighter, then use a pair of pliars on one end to unscrew it, or the vice.

boiling water is what you want. Boil it for a while then try. I once had the same problem
