Do you find that your tastes in music change, depending on your mood or who you are thinking of? What about when you're stoned? Is there music you like, that you wouldn't otherwise listen to? Just curious to see what other people think. And yes, I am stoned. Just a puff....a TINY little puff....

I listen in crack-like addicted phases. I'm back into the Classic Rock phase. I was into Gangsta Rap during the last few years. Eminem, Geto Boyz,

I've gone thru punk, classical, reggae, blues, jazz, pretty much everything except country. I'll never like country.

I stay in a music phase for 2-3 years .... and listen to, buy and steal all I can. Then move on to something else, totally different. Did I mention the Spice Girls phase ????

Okay, so you thoughts on something, Donnie.....So this guy I know, he can play Stairway to Heaven....now, HE says that he shouldn't play it for me, as it's been overplayed. *I* say that it's an aphrodesiac....play it anyhow. I appreciate the stairway, see....Jimmy Page...well, wow. Even love The Firm...ever hear Satisfaction Guaranteed?????? So, *I* say, play me Stairway.....let me decide, right???? You tell this person (and I'll forward the man's view right on to him,,,,,k???) that he needs to play me a tune.....

Stairway Overplayed ??? It's the #1 rock anthem, and arguably the best song of all time. It cannot be overplayed.

"Stairway" as an aphrodesiac. I can totally understand why you feel that way. It starts out as a quiet ballad, and works up to a climax in about 8 minutes.

My memories go back to the early 70's as a teen, getting stoned and driving around town w/friends with Led Zeppelin 4 in the tape deck. It was a very cool time to be alive.

Back in the 1970's, Matt Umanov's Guitar Shop (Greenwich Village, NYC) had a sign up that said:

"Attention: Anyone playing Stairway to Heaven will be required to leave the store!"
or somthing similar about playing STH.

Eventually, more overplayed songs were listed.

To honor the great Led Zepplen, I will never play stairawy to heaven again.....It is just way over played and i will not tarnish it's image anymore by playing it.... However I guess if it was gonna get me laid, I would play it with my teeth on a street corner....lol

    Allie,

To answer your original question ... listening base on mood ... I definitely tend to listen to blues if I'm depressed, love songs when I feel romantic, and rap when I wanna kick some white guy's ass. And when I'm feeling gay, it's show tunes. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

The only constant in my music are my XM radios .

P.S. I'm currently playing Stairway to Heaven on my PC.
