attic grow
right this is my situation. i'm gonna grow in my attic but there's a problem. i have a little room in my attic thats directly over my bedroom, but the light in my bedroom doesn't work (summin to do with the electrics in the attic) i can't put my grow light in the attic till i've sorted it out, cos if an electrician goes up there, they're gonna think what the fuck! i havent got enough room in my bedroom so i need to get it up there fast. anyone good with electronics & can help me fix my light? so i can put my plant in the attic!!!

sounds like the wiring was disconnected from your light socket for another purpose. find someone you trust who knows what they are doing to check it out.

the wiring for your bedroom light is in the attic. your light is mounted in a metal box that is nailed to a ceiling joist. the power is fed to the fixture from the wall switch which in turn is fed by wire running in the space between wall studs to the attic. it's not uncommon for people to disconnect wire to one fixture to add another, especially if the one disconnected is not normally used. damn, if you were close by i'd pop over and sort it for you for a small fee!

If ya go to a electrical distributor they got wand testers. Basically the thing beeps or lights up if it's near 110v or greater. Test inside the cover plate on your switch and make sure that's getting power and if it is, then go into the attic and test the line leading to the fixture. No power at the fixture means you got a bad switch and if you do have power then you got a bad fixture. The only thing with these testers is that if there are power lines crossing they do pick up on the bleed though every now and then. ALWAYS assume that lines are hot for safety!
Warning though, electricity can kill so if your real unsure, nervous...leave it to someone that knows! Better to be a live toker than a dead grower!!! Good luck and STAY SAFE!!
