    The Ladies (Updated) FLOWERING?

    Hey everyone,

Ive been at it for about 45 days now and attatched are some pictures of the ladies. Everything seems to be going well, they are extremely healthy looking, growing rapidly and one of them has a harsh skunk smell to it already. But, i do have a few questions. First of all i posted a bit ago about the pistils the ladies were putting out on 18/6 and if that was normal. I was told that its fine to have pistils under 18/6 its just showing its sex, and it wont go into flowering untill i switch to 12/12. As you can see below in two of the pictures. they REALLY look like there starting to flower. They have big bunches of white hairs at the ends of all the branches, and a nice sized bunch on the tops. The thing is I DONT want to flower them. These two were planted strictly as mother plants to be cloned from and will always be in veg. So i was just looking for some input, if this still looks normal or if i should change my lighting to something like 24/0 because they are beginning to flower. Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes, it is normal. Don't worry about pistils. 18/6 or 24/0 will work for mother plants.

Why not keep them on 24/0?

Unless you are concerned about the electric bill, you might as well keep them under 24 hours light, especially if they are mother plants and are going to be staying in veg.

Cannabis does not need a break in their photoperiod during vegetative growth, meaning they do not need any periods of darkness to perform photosynthesis efficiently. More light = More growth, and with the 18/6 light cycle you are losing approx 20-25% of potential photosynthesis and growth.

Again, if electric bill is a problem, or temps get too high, then it is understandable to have them on 18/6 . . . otherwise go for the 24/0, they will grow heartier and revive more quickly after taking clones.

    Best luck,

I agree with Johnny - i`d keep them on 24/0 if u can. I find it helps with secondary growth etc( which is certainly helpful if ur wanting to take clones from them) and they`re certain not to flower then!!!
Don`t worry about the pistils showin either -- i`ve had plants show female sex (just as urs are) at only 4 weeks into veg.
Not too sure bout the leaf ends but i`d take a guess that it`s light burn. I wouldn`t worry bout that either unless u start to get discoulouration or spotting on the leaves or if it seems to spread.
They look totally fine 2 me - nice job

    Just as an afterthought ...............
From ur pics ...... i may be wrong but it does look very orange in ur growspace which would suggest to me your using a light or lights that are red spec which is normally more akin to flowering.
what lights do u have over them????
If your intending to keep them in veg then i`d suggest u have a MH bulb or at least blue spec flouros or envirolights on them.
Might b just the way it looks on my screen but they do look like they`re under red spectrum there

Thanks for your reply digi, they were under HPS thats why they have that red color. But i figured that out and switched them to MH and they seemed to have taken to it really well.

Your plants look great brother. I looked at them close up and I don't think you have anything to worry about. Great Job
