besides, the important thing to remember is that the private sector controls medicine in this country (thank god) and the government doesnt have much of a choice whether or not they go public with that stuff.
Just an observation....every major pharmaceutical company, oil company etc etc receives grants and tax incentives to do the research that they do. And both the democans and republicrats receive plenty of contributions from said companies. Since the pharms already take is shitload of profits from aids drugs, paincontrol drugs, cancer fighting drugs, chemotherapy drugs etc etc, what current incentive would they have at this point in time to release a cure for either...assuming they have one. Same for the energy companies. They are already bleeding us dry for gas, fuel oil, diesel, and electricity. I would venture to guess that if they have new and/or renewable energy options, they will sit on it until the well are all dried up. Check out all of the crap regarding the FDA and RU486 (abortion pill). Oh and they are not heartless...just greedy.
