trusting the american people
as many of you think the american government can't be trusted, i ask you to look at it from another point of view. if there was a cure for aids, would it be wise to let us know? if there was a cure for cancer, would it promote more sinister deeds or make people think twice about smoking a pack of cigarettes a day?

hmmm that would be a very difficult cover up to accomplish. People even leaked rumors about the manhattan project, and area 51. But if it could be pulled off you have a point.

Since when did the government tell us what we could do to our bodies?
A free democratic nation ensures
Maximum mobility, rights, and action. If the constitution is properly interperted, then we have the right to hurt our bodies, I don't know who outlawed drugs but it aint working, i think all drugs should be legal, and it should be up to the individual, after the individual is given the facts and given a choice
Fuck the government, the reason that weed is illegal is because Marbollo or something spread shit like "marijuana makes colored people sexually aggressive towards women" because they knew if marijuana spread then tobacco wouldn't sell, and tobacco is unhealthy for you while marijuana is not that unhealthy (the only health risk might be a burn in your lung due to hot smoke, but that can be done with using a vaporizer

...you're right though, the govt. does spend a lot on medical research thats contracted through these private companies. but the majority of the money is lost in research. ill try and find the numbers somewhere but im pretty sure that neither the govt. nor the pharmaceudical companies make much money off this stuff since most of it is used just to develope them.
it makes since when you think about it. billions of dollars are spent every year on cancer and aids research with a common goal: find a cure. this money is not reciprocated. everyone, even us (the taxpayers) are losing. a cure released to the public would only benefit them financially.

I guess I don't understand what being an American has to do with this. America is not the only country that is working on Cancer or Aids for that matter.
