    Check It Out

Ok I'm a newbie at this growing stuff but i have done alot of research but i figure there is only so much to be learned outside of hands on trial and error which is where i think most of growing "skillz" come from ...Experience = knowledge....so yeah im just basically testing it out..nothin major just a bag seed ..basically im growing this for something to do ...and while id like it to grow and give off a lil bud ....i dont care that much if it dies or whatever ...im just experimenting to get more of a "feel" for the growing before i go for a "big grow" ...so yeah just a couple of quick questions

first off does my plant look healthy?? its at most 6 days scince put in soil ...i gathered from reading other threads that it was def stretching for light so scince these pics i have moved the lights closer almost touching..... the light is a "grow light" ....i figure this will be ok for the first little while?? (how long before i should up the lighting.... i now have it on 24 hour light ....which brings me to my next question ...would it be a good idea to put it outside one the real sunny days and then bring it in at night and throw the lights back on or am i better off just letting the light?? ( will put more on soon)

not hard to tell that im investing very little money into this plant dont just expirmenting so im going to grow under flurows...im sure ill need alot more CF lights to flower the plants ...but how much more would be sufficient ??

The sunlight is the best light that you can give the plant so if you don't have nosy neighbors, outside would be best. As for the lighting during the vegetative stage, I've always stood by 18 hours of light and 6 of darkness and have been successful. I've done so since I read somewhere that the plants root during the dark hours. Concerning your question about the fluorescent light, I would say that you'll probably want a different light or an additional light during the flowering process. Since I've had to terminate all my babies before they come to harvest, I cannot give you specifics on how much light you'll be needing. Happy highs!

hey nifty, if roots only grew in the dark how do you explain plants being able to survive at all under 24/0? Plus... how would the roots now when its dark or light, they are covered in soil, or in a hydro grow in complete darkness. Don't believe everything that you read!

Sunlight ...so its ok to have it out in the sun for say ummm 8 hours a day then under the light(s) for the rest? cuz fact is here in Eastern Canada ya cant really grow outdoors but june and july and probally august are good and sunny just wondering by changing the source of light back and forth will it mess up any cycles?

also anymore input on the questions above would be apreciated

just makes sure the temp and humidity outside and inside are similiar, because i do believe a drastic change might shock the plant a bit

Get those compact flourecent bulbs on your plants! Those are a lot better than the grow light you are using at the moment. The full spectrum bulb is definately the best one, if you can get more of them, then that would be good. But your plants can benifit greatly from the upgrade in lighting!

yeah the "soft white" has more of a yellow tinge to it where as the full spectrum "brite white" is more of a white.....should i add them all ? or just the full spectrum one and wait to get more or will adding both types work good as well ? ...was hoping to see you reply sawleaf

Add them all. Even though the soft white are not as good as the full spectum, they will still give the plant more needed light. More light means a happy plant and better growth.
