I never listen to it anymore. I bought it the first day it came out and didn't care for it at first, then I kept listening and it grew on me and I really enjoyed it for a year or so, but now I'm just sick of it. Honestly, I just don't think they know how to be angry anymore. the only song I think was well done is the title track. and, to break down what exactly is wrong with it....

1. Regardless of them claiming it's an "angry" album, the whole things sounds like they're having fun while doing it. IE "This house is clean baby! this house is clean!" (this, IMO, is the biggest problem)

2. The most common complaint, there's no solo's. if they actually let kirk do some writing for this album I'm sure it would have been 10 times better.

3. the drums sounded like hitting tin cans, hence all they added was a constant annoying background noise.

4. the whole concept of not producing it properly and cleanly failed miserably. they were probably trying to pull off another "...and justice for all" in that effect, but it just sucked.

5. the lyrics were all very weak.

6. When it was first anounced I think everybody thought "alright, long songs again, just like their old albums!". instead, you could cut the songs down to a 1/3 the length and it wouldn't change a thing except the repetition.

7. Fucked if I know why they changed the metallica logo, but it sucks now.

8. The guitars were so rough you can't really hear the notes clearly, it just sounds like a jumble of noise.

all in all though, I think if they could just figure out that they need to stop sounding like they're having fun in their music, that would fix a lot. I think that started around reload. plus, they need to drop the rock 'n roll elements out of their sound, which are still plainly present in st. anger.

EDIT: whoa, heavymetal101, how can you say Justice sucked? that albums a classic!
