Anyone like St. Anger?
I thought it sucked! The only good thing to come out of St. Anger was that fucking Documentary. When the lead singer only works 4 hours a day, and you have a shrink hanging around the studio, It's lucky the album isn't even a bigger piece of shit than it already is. Metallica have morphed into a bunch of spoiled rock stars who are all full of themselves, and because of that I doubt they'll ever write another good album again!

the tracks on st. anger are excellent to play when you're drunk in the studio and you're looking for something to blow your ears out with / to laugh about after you pull it off for a couple minutes and realize how stupid it was before you go back to your own material.
i bought that album for 10 bucks after knewing it was commercially horrible. my 11th metallica album. it was excellent. metallica is so horrible now.

Their last several CD's were crap. The live showes are ok but not as good as before. The movie just pissed me off and cost them respect in my eyes.
Now they are just what they are...........another OLD band resting on their laurels.
Bring back the drug enhanced alcoholic Matellica that's what Rock & Roll is all about.

that movie was funny. i really can't stand metallica though. once my friend and i told another friend that St. Anger was about childbirth (she believed us...) since at some point they say "push it out" or something like that

Now I cnt say Metallice sucked but I can say they suck now and have been sucking for quite some time now. I would say that from about 1987 and beofre were there good albums. but after MAster of Puppets (whick I know was made in '86) they started to suck.
They need a new lead singer, desperatley!!! But even then they would still suck.
But man we cant dis' on anyone for doing what they love. If there really into there music and are doin in for the right reasons, then no one should hate on them. You wouldnt want someone hating on you even if you were a washed up rock star.
But if there doing it just for the money then fuck them

I never listen to it anymore. I bought it the first day it came out and didn't care for it at first, then I kept listening and it grew on me and I really enjoyed it for a year or so, but now I'm just sick of it. Honestly, I just don't think they know how to be angry anymore. the only song I think was well done is the title track. and, to break down what exactly is wrong with it....
1. Regardless of them claiming it's an "angry" album, the whole things sounds like they're having fun while doing it. IE "This house is clean baby! this house is clean!"(this, IMO, is the biggest problem)
2. The most common complaint, there's no solo's. if they actually let kirk do some writing for this album I'm sure it would have been 10 times better.
3. the drums sounded like hitting tin cans, hence all they added was a constant annoying background noise.
4. the whole concept of not producing it properly and cleanly failed miserably. they were probably trying to pull off another "...and justice for all" in that effect, but it just sucked.
5. the lyrics were all very weak.
6. When it was first anounced I think everybody thought "alright, long songs again, just like their old albums!". instead, you could cut the songs down to a 1/3 the length and it wouldn't change a thing except the repetition.
7. Fucked if I know why they changed the metallica logo, but it sucks now.
8. The guitars were so rough you can't really hear the notes clearly, it just sounds like a jumble of noise.
all in all though, I think if they could just figure out that they need to stop sounding like they're having fun in their music, that would fix a lot. I think that started around reload. plus, they need to drop the rock 'n roll elements out of their sound, which are still plainly present in st. anger.
EDIT: whoa, heavymetal101, how can you say Justice sucked? that albums a classic!
