    John Lennon was my Hero

Poor guy, I feel so bad for John. The first time I listened to Nowhere Man it almost brought me to tears. Here is a guy who has a wife that the media can't know about that is just tearing him apart. Finally he finds someone he truly loves (Yoko Ono) and he gets shot! I also love the song Working Class Hero from his days in the Plastic Ono Band.
overdrive Reviewed by overdrive on . John Lennon was my Hero It was 25 years ago today that John Lennon was shot to death just out-side of his apartment building. I remember it like yesterday. I was in the back yard the following morning of his death tending my pot garden and my mother came running out in tears saying Johns been shot, John Lennon is dead... I couldn't believe my ears as I could never imagine anyone who would kill such a great peace activist, father, husband, song writer. We can only imagine what the world would have been like with him Rating: 5

George Harrison was also a great artist.. Ringo?? Don't make me laugh!
But Lennon had the touch, the love and used his music to create peace.
He is definataly TOPS in my books for musicians accoplishments toward human rights, peace and freedom.
    Lennon will live forever.

I can't speak to his ability as a musician .... but he was truly a man of conviction, peace, and love. If I could imagine someone living the life of Jesus, in modern day, John Lennon comes to mind. This is why many are were devistated by his assasination.

    John Lennon was my Hero

I was at home. My wife (at the time) was staying at the hospital with our newborn son...and I'd come home for the night. It was kind of nice to sit in the dark and listen to "grandchester Meadows" by Pink Floyd and smoke a joint. The luminous green light shone from the stereo receiver.
When I awoke in the morning and turned on the radio...I heard the news. And it was interesting to see all of the people from different walks of life who drove with their headlights on that day in honor of John. The last words he ever spoke were ..." I've been shot."

    John Lennon was my Hero

Today 25 years ago John died. I was moving plants from green house to basement to finish grow cycle when my mother told me of the terrible news. It was as if the world stood still for 7 days or more after his death. Everyone was devastated.. I remember my mother after the 3rd week asking when will the radio station stop with the Beatle songs... I replied Mom.. Lennon will live forever in my heart and of billions of his fans. He's spirit and music has lived and will forever.
    Thanks John...
