Like all religions, Scientology is a big steaming bag of bullshit. For example, the crappy science fiction story behind it rests on the idea that the universe is several quadrillion years old. L Ron Hubbard didn't know what cosmologists know today: that the universe is really only something like 13-14 billion years old.

The story about aliens being stacked around volcanoes and blown to bits with hydrogen bombs doesn't fly with the evidence either. If thousands of hydrogen bombs were detonated 75 million years ago, we would surely see a mass extinction in the fossil record, as well as a geologic layer of radioactive material. We don't.

It's just as loony as believing in magic carpets, leprechauns, the tooth fairy, astrology, the flat earth theory, talking evil snakes, boats capable of holding every land species on the planet, or virgins being impregnated by the giant invisible dictator of the universe that nobody can see or hear.
