Have you read this thread? I can't testify to how well it works but it seems like a homemade carbon scrubber would be the cheapest way to go.

I need to figure out some better odor control as well. I will be growing some Ak-47 soon and from what I've read it is one of the smelliest plants around. I plan on trying to build my own carbon scrubber like in the above thread.
Good luck

hey someone linked to my advice... sweeet
lol
the home made carbon filter is very effective, and very cheap. keep in mind that there are many other ways to build the same thing.
more importantly, consider what type of ventilation you have. adding a carbon filter will add a lot of drag to your ventilation, requiring a much stronger fan to push air thru the filter at a rate that would continue to maintain your temperature in a good range... my stanley blower was too noisy for me, so i switched to an ozone generator that i found online for $45
ozone is also very effective, but you have to be very careful, it can be hazardous to you and your plants if used improperly. i have o3 damage on my current plant because i was careless with it when i hooked it up for the first time

Don't vent the air back into the grow room. You want fresh air entering and spent air exiting. The scubber is just to control odors on the vented air.
Build your own and save money.

yea thats right.. you need to push air through the filter and out of the grow, and bring fresh air in
if you maintain ventilation, then the only air escaping the grow will be going thru the filter, and it wont smell
