Your growroom is 192 Cubic Square Feet. You should be using an exhaust blower with a CFM rating of over 192. Heres a few images of some good exhaust blowers for sale. http://www.gchydro.com/detail.asp?product_id=XACTIVAIR If I were you I would at least be using a 265CFM model. It's reccomended that you reintroduce new air into the growroom at least once every five minutes. For optimal results you can reintroduce new air every one minute. With the 265CFM model you will be exganging old air for new air 1 and 3/4 times every minute. That will help reduce your heat problems if you install it correctly near the top of the room or door. That room you have there could be a really nice set up if you were serious about it. If you want me to design you a professional growrrom and you have cash to buy the equipment I will draw up plans for you. You could get quite a few plants in there and if you sold some of what you grew you would have your money back in no time flat. Anyways lemme know. Water when the container feels almost dry. ALMOST.

You can use the HPS light right now. A good way to tell if its too close is to place your hand right over the top of the plants. If your hand feels uncomfortable so will your plants. So just adjust the light. It's 100 times better than fluros. If you insist on the fluros keep them no more than 2 inches from the plants or they will stretch to all hell and back.

for me to install a 265cfm in my grow room i would have to cut a hole bigger than my vent hole i already have. also the ventwill push the heat and the smell out to my front yard. any other solutions?

Vent it up into the attic or over the roof possibly. Or a activated charcoal filter. You never told me if you wanted to set up the room professionally.

this is a bathroom i turned into my grow room, sooner or later my old lady is going to tell me to turn it back to a bathroom. lol. i have my own bathroom upstairs which the exhust vents to the top of the roof.there is an attic so i might be able to install that265 cfm there. then again thats my bathroom, iam going to have to share her bathroom for x-amount of weeks. this room is 7x8.
