~Bulb Question~
This is my understanding. In the beginning of a grow you start with MH bulbs. When you start to flower you change to HPS Bulbs. However the bulb sitting in my lap says,"SunMaster Neutral Delux Metal Halide,1000 watts and 105,000 lumens. The box says it may also be used for flowering and vegetation.
So do I switch bulbs at different stages? How many such lights would a 10 foot by 10 foot room require?
Thanks...
Blessings

~Bulb Question~
I was a little interested myself so I found this site:
http://www.hydroponics.com/light/sun_neut.htm
Economical, versatile multi-purpose lamp
Balanced spectral output
Promotes both flowering and vegetative growth
Long life
Available in 250, 400 or 1000 watt lamps, with choice of universal, horizontal or base-up burning configurations
Homegrown SUNMASTER Neutral Deluxe Grow Lamps emit balanced light similar to a 4000° Kelvin source, imitating the natural white look of sunlight. They are ideal single lamp sources for practically all phases of plant growth.
Homegrown SUNMASTER Neutral Deluxe Grow Lamps are effective in promoting both vegetative growth and flowering. They surpass many other HID sources in PAR watts - the most objective measurement of total light energy available for photosynthesis.
Available in 250 watt, 400 watt or 1,000 watt versions, with a choice of universal, horizontal or base-up burning configurations for optimum performance.
Homegrown SUNMASTER Neutral Deluxe Lamps set new standards in general plant lighting, promoting high levels of photosynthesis without compromise.
You want between 5000-7,500 lumens per square foot so based on 10 x10 that would be 500,000 -750,000 lumens. Seems like 5 of those in a 10 x10 room would be like the krypton sun though. Maybe get a couple of 250 w to spread around the perimeter of the room.
I have the same size area and arange my MH in the center and have 3 HPS around the outside of my actual grow area. Ya have to figure also that if you have good reflective material that helps out QUITE a bit. Good Luck!
Remember to watch that amperage pull....don't want no fires!

~Bulb Question~
It is a good bulb  sunmaster and agrosun are same bulbs, very high quality, imho
...at times I think that people make a little too much about what can and cannot/or should be used...I have 1000w hortilux enhanced blue/violet spectrum and a 400w sunmaster warm deluxe...a little more enhanced red spectrum than your bulb...
another great metal halide 1000w bulb that people have been ranting about is the hortilux blue(ATTENTION, CHECK OUT THE SPECTRUM GRAPHS ON THIS
BLUE COMPARED TO, EVEN, THE MIGHTY HORTILUX...On the EYE Hortilux box I have, it shows the spectrums side by side and the graph on the Hortilux Blue BLOWS AWAY the rest! I've been hunting ebay for a 1000w MH, just to try it out!
...although a lot of growers feel that HPS is better for flower, and there is good argument for using them all the way, BUT...I have seen growth with metal halide that impressed the shit out of me...not that that carries any weight..lol :smokin: ....anyway, I think that a blend is the best way to go...lw
4 1000w-2 on 6 foot light rails and 2 on 4 foot light rails would cover your 10x10 grow area...you must have a lot of time to invest if your going to cultivate 100 sf...goodluck.lw

~Bulb Question~
If your tight on your budget you could go flowering with a MH bulb as latewood said without any problem (I strongly suggest a warm bulb or any bulb with enhanced red spectrum if you plan on flowering with it). However, if you can afford a conversion bulb (You can buy a HPS conversion bulb that fits your MH ballast) or HPS ballast then id suggest you buy both MH for Vegetative Cycle & HPS for Flowering Cycle
Have a nice Grow!

~Bulb Question~
Metal Halide for vegatative growth and High Pressure Sodium for Flowering. MH emits light in the blue and green spectrum and HS emits light in the red and orange spectrum.
