Tricks of the trade

OK guys, this ought to be interesting.

I want to hear from all you experienced growers some tricks you've learned in growing. There are a lot of crazy methods out there, but what really works??

For example:

1) Soon as male flowers begin to show up on a plant, I change the bucket of chemicals out and start fresh, then add an aspirin. It always produces female flowers within 1 week after I add the aspirin. SO I have a Hermie. The bottom flowers (male) never produce pollen. I end up with some pretty good bud :stoned:

2) Cutting back the lights for the first time to 12/12. My lights are on for 18hrs During the day, Then the first night of cutting them back, I leave the plant in the dark for 36hrs. ( a day & a half) Supposed to change the plant "mode" faster. I haven't seen much result with that though.

So let's all get together & hear what you guys do/learned to make a better crop.

That really works with the males and the asperin?
They stop producing male flowers after the asperin too?
Is the yield the same as a regular female of that strain?
I find this all hard to believe...but please proove me wrong.

My first grow was northern lights. Dyna-gro nutes some epson salt and h2o2 that's all. 400 HPS no reflectant. 6 plants and i got 4 oz's. looked good but grew to big. Secound grow orange bud. Switched to GH 3 part, bud blood , big bud ,cal-mag plus , B-52, h2o2. 2 started slow and 1 is a monster bitch. I have harvested about 2 oz's so far . The monster bitch grew all up in my light and I cut it back it is taking longer to finish because of massive bud branching and I switched to a 1000 HPS the last 2 weeks to finish. I think about 4 to 5 oz's more if monster bitch fills in and fattens up. I'll put some pic's in my last grow thread soon , I just got my grow room almost finished almost.

Ya, that's what I did, but not sure if it was just a freak accident or my plant was a hermie in the 1st place. I read another thread on here someone wrote on "how to make female seeds" They too their male plants and gave them asprin right before they pollinated, bred em with the females, and got female seeds. That's where I decided to try to change the harmones in my young plants with the asprin, but who knows? I'll keep doing it until my experiment shows to be false

one asprin to 2 gallons, use MH lamps during the process (or blue floro's)

Dutch Master has a product called Feminiser that they say stops hermies. It can stop a male from producing pollen and if you have a hermie they say it can stop them from turning and produce flowers with no seeds.

That's cool. I do have some "Sensi-Soak" that is suppossed to make most of your seeds you sprout female but I haven't proven it to be a good product yet.

I have and I use it as well. I think there is a trick to using it or really just a slightly different way of germinating in the paper towel method. You do use only that formula and no water. I don't care what they say I use 100% of the Sensi-Soak to germinate my seeds NO water.

A good tip i heard for cheap skates who need CO2 is to add a few mls of piss to a few litres of water...every pound of sugar added ferments into 1/2 ounce of CO2 gas!!! could be usefull in a small closet
