I had dreads for about a year, and I absolutely LOVED them. Also, you can wash them after a couple weeks of letting them set (I didn't wash for a month, but I'm the parinoid type)... I used Knotty Boy's dread soap, and my locks were always smelling great - can't go wrong with rosemary, tea tree and peppermint.

Mine were cut out, and the beautician was able to save about 4 inches of hair from each dread, but it took for-ev-er. Still, it was worth it to not be bald.
