Im stuck here..... I found this article in the news paper the other day and i no longer know who to believe . Every day i ping pong between newspaper articles saying how cannabis causes mental illness. and things such as the cannabis.com cannabis FAQs and erowid that say otherwise, im confused...

It helps show that young users can attain schizophrenia through pot, but I think it's because they see life stoned and sober. Thus, two different perspectives. While the brain is developing, weed shouldn't be used until it's proven to be better off for teens to smoke pot. But, the study shouldn't be put off, like it will be.

It says Cannabis use has increased tenfold in the last twenty years, in British teenagers. What about Crack? Maybe the teens are getting smarter.

These newspaper articles always say that the damage and mental illness is caused by either binging or young use, but i still find it hard to make a personal decision.

I'd agree with the article...i'm sure it needs to be proven on different levels.. but personally i'd agree.. anyone smoking at the age of 10 is going to have some serious health and mental problems

Cannabis is a Drug.. not a god damn fashion statement...

maybe if more people treated it as a medical drug and not the latest teenage fad we wouldn't have so many schitzo's in our society.

Whether to take cannabis or not, my biggest problem is knowing what im getting. im inexperienced when it comes to buying and identifying, i could end up buying either something laced, some kind of super-skunk or oregano

Well I certainly understand your concern.. especially if this is a new aspect of life for you.
Some things to consider would be your age, your overall physical size and the people you hang out with...
Do you smoke already?
Do you drink?
What other drugs have you done?

Laced weed is a sad thing to come across really.. generally laced weed is laced because the grower has botched some part of the growing process so that the product has become very harsh...and just generally...shitty.. It's not often you'll come across weed that is laced without you knowing it. And a lot of times the weed isn't even laced.. the high is just intense enough that you think it is.

lil reminder, heavy user are in fact more sensible to mental illness, but even then i have some of my parent's friend who smoked their entire life quite heavily and they are in pretty good shape, so it is somehow a new weapon against legalization...You know, media is not the gratest place to pick up information as they are making money out of it...try scientific posts or more serious statement than the newspaper...less money involved... so i am not saying anything casted in stone but i don't think it is a considerable argument if you are over 16 and not smoking an 1/8 a day...

just smoke or dont stop fassying about it, if youre over 18 and are steady in the brain then there is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, worry more about the poison u pour down ur throat every weekend or the cancer sticks u smoke.

and that article is bollocks, although i can totally believe 10-11yr olds who smoke weed become fucked up but then is it not blatently obviously why? if they need to use drugs and are hanging around people who would use them at that very young age well just think what their parents are like, i expect the majority of them either dont have parents or they are fucked up, 10 is a ridiculously young age to drink or smoke anything at all and it can not be blamed directly on cannabis.
i think the argument in that article is very poor with them consistently referring to young users (10-11) which is a stupid point to argue (but is one of the only things anti weed faggots have left) and also the point about however many people in mental hospitals have used or use cannabis is stupid, people dont just develop it from smoking cannabis theres normally a lot of history and bad things that happen in a persons life which makes people like that vulnerable to smoking weed or getting drunk, BUT IT DOES NOT DIRECTLY CAUSE SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS IN HEALTHY ADULTS WHO USE THE DRUG RESPONSIBLY, even smoking excessive amounts i find unlikely to cause that much of a problem
