MY SET UP 1ST TRY

Hello I I'm having a heat prob, I got home from work and my closet grow room temp was 109%F with a 3ft fan moving air around in the closet by the way i have a 400wMH.

Today was the 2nd day with this set up yesterday it wasnt as hot I think the outside weather had a lot to do with that being that it wasnt really cold today.
But my question is should I install an A/C in my closet (its a window a/c) cause i dont even think 3 fans would do any good or should i get a 250 MH the prob is I dont even know if they make a 250MH But I need it ASAP I dont have time for shipping

HELP ME PLEASE my space it 2x4x7ft

Hey dude,,,

Don't let got of the 400W MH... that doesn't make sense.

In your setup, do you have fresh air (from outside the window) coming inside? You need fresh air.

As to the a/c unit, that would kick-ass, as you would be able to mantain very exact temperatures, and not be dependent on the enviroment (like me).

I trully think that your problem is you're not getting fresh/cool air in there...

Hello B like Turtle says it sounds like you need some air in there to cool things down a little, the lights do put out a lot of heat so some ventilation is required.
Where do you live B ? because I'm having to opposite problem at the moment, it's too cold.

Mind you my idea of ventilation when it gets too hot in the summer is to open the growroom door, so my knowledge of how to keep a small closet grow cool is none exsistent
However rather than go down in watts on the lamp I would definietely try to get some air in there.

yeah i know I need fresh air but its kind of hard to leave the cabinet door open cause I need privacy, so therefore I need the cabinet door closed most of the time. I can make a few holes in my grow box but I dont have any small good fans that will work? besides the heat is to strong i dont thing it will do much I know I either need the window open with the closet door open or an a/c in the closet? This sucks I dont think I gonna be able to grow in these conditions its a shame 2 cause out of my 10 seeds 10 sprouted and 7 are trying to live!!

Mand I live in New Jersey "the garden state" ironic but its like 65%F outside at this time of year its suppose to be around 30%

However don't give in with them just keep trying to grow them best you can.
Cannabis plants are "tough little buggers", a lot tougher than people think
It seems to be keeping them private that is the problem.

Like I say I've got the opposite problem to heat here, it's snowing, rainning, ice, frost and foggy


See what replies you get, see if anyone has any ideas.
If you can't ventilate the closet, prehaps less watts maybe the only answer................I honestly don't know

Coming from experience im gonna be the first to tell you that your gonna run into bumps and everything else threw you adventure of cannabis cultivation, the best thing anyone here could tell you is to read up on ventalation so you can learn ways to vent out your heat....several ppl have had this problem threw out the years and have learned ways to fix them, kinda hard for anyone to tell you anything without having your setup right infront of them but try this.....get ahold of some good CPU fans there very inexpencive and with enuff holes in your box with some of these little babys in them could be just what you need to cool your grow chamber down to just the right temp, and if all else fails you can think of it this way ( well theres that much more fresh air coming in ) you plants need fresh air not only to keep your grow room to a nice temp but you plants need to breath just as much as we do....so if that plan fails you do some reading up on ventalation ....hope any of this has helped...later all PPP

thanks sounds good. For now I got some Dry Ice from work not enough for the 1 full day but I can get it everyday little by little untill I find out how to figure my prob. out thank you so much for giving me good ideas hopefully this work out for me. I never knew it was going to be this hard

Here's an update, this is day 5 its been a lot better with the heat and all.
I managed to keep the temp at 81-83 in the day and 70 in the 6hour dark. All
the 9plants recovered except one, im trying to save it but ill see tomorrow.
Does it put a lot of stress if i switch from 18/6 to 24; and when do I know when to repot the plants? I'm planning a duct layout idea to keep a really cold fresh air intake from outside for the light n plants, hopefully I go through with it and make it work out. :rasta:

whats good buk...well i know more or less whatchu goen through wit liven up hea in da northeast but ventilation isnt that difficult a problem to handle imsure u'll figure it out jus keep in mind mainly fresh air into the grow area and then used air coming out of the grow area also heat rises so get the fresh air coming in from base level of where the cups are at and have the vent out towards the top usually above the light i'd segjest a rastafan setup cheap and it works e.i. look up turtles post for info..also the 24 hour lighting period's what im on and i switched to 24 from 18 without experiencing any shock they love the light..good luck wit da grow last words for advice patience truely is a vertue...holla
