    plants VERY deep green

I`m trying to get my girls through the winter with nothin other than the cfls that light my house, they`re doin well and look seemingly healthy but they seem VERY green, including the grow tips. They`re about 2 months old and as yet I haven`t fed them as I don`t really want to promote too much growth I just want to keep them ticking over until the summer. So I`m wondering if the deep colour is an indication of some deficiancy and if so will giving them a bit feed solve it??? any help is greatly appreciated
