And most people were extremely leery of homegrown since it was hard to find decent seeds much less the right lighting and growing gear. And there was no where near as much info on how to grow.
I know it's hard to believe, but there were no pc's back then much less the internet. And it was unlikely that your local library would be carrying Ed Rosenthal, much less the local bookstore.
