I have been smokin on and off since i was 12 and i'm 17 now, and was recently diagnosed with hypertension less than 1 year ago and i still smoke. And according to my research cannabis appears to increase the pulse rate and dilate your blood vessels which means your heart is pumping out the same amount more or less and was wondering if ne one else smokes with HBP

Smoking should lower your blood pressure, it does in most people due to the relaxing effect. Although there are a few people that have an adverse effect to cannabis, it also allows you to inhale more air per breath.

i recently was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and stage two hypertension
smoking increases my heart rate and blood pressure causing me to fell really light headed and some times pass out.. i'll also get really anxious....
marijuana has a hyper effect to all our hearts so smoking when you already have these issues tend to increase them and their symptoms... but only when you have a very bad case of HP or any other hyper disorders....

i shouldnt be smoking but its kinda hard not to when your bored

nomadherman i completely agree with you mine tends to increase when i am high but not very much i average in tthe mid 150s to 70s and 80s but i don't plan to quit smokin anytime soon

when i went into the doctors the first time to see why i wasnt feel well my blood pressure was 192/78, so they put me on medication but it doesnt seem to work that well...

also you can effect your own blood pressure mentaly... so i try my best not to think about it because when i do it gets worse.....

also have you noticed that the first smoking session of the day is worse than the next and so on?

i really want to get my blood pressure under control so i can enjoy my highs more...

Sometimes, mostly when I smoke alone, I really trip out and I notice my heart beating either so slow I think i'm dead for sure, or so fast it feels like its going to explode. Then when I start thinking about that, its SOOO hard to concentrate on anything else. What does weed do to your heart after smoking it?

yep my father stopped his heart beating on an acid bad trip...

But guys the key is do some exercise...I was diagnosed HBP but my doctor told me it wasn't about pot itself but the couchlock it gives me...when you don't move and do not increase your heartbeat, youre heart weakens...Since i did the police technique training, i have a heart beat of 60 per minute even when stressed out! so i don't pretend you don't exercise at all but do it more often and see the benefits after a cou0ple of month! Been there done that! :dance:
