The difference between the varieties of cannabis

Well guys and gals ive noticed alot of newbs asking the difference between the two main cannabis species well ill answer these and add alittle more if i can i hope this will help and bear with me ita a long un thanks

What are the differences between Sativa Indica strains?

Cannabis Sativa is an hebacious annual meaning that it is an herb like flowering flant thatcompletes its life-cycle in one season and develops seeds to propagate the next generation it grows from 3 to 9 feet high with a sturdy erect stemthe leaves can be alternate or opposite on long stalks (petitoles) with linear serrated leaves tapering to a point the flowers form in clusters the seeds are rounding ovate and slightly flattened the plant is thought by many to originate from central asia but is natrualived in north america,Brazil and Europe altought the botannicle classification of cannabis is cannabis sativs there are in fact three distict varieties of cannabis grown for phychoactive proporties they are Cannabis satva, Cannabis Indica and Cannabis Ruderalis.

cannabis sativa plants are charachterized by long thin leaves and loose flower clusters these plants originate from equatorial regions where the growing season has relativly long photo periods resulting in day and night cycles that are almost the same length year round this means sativa varieties from such a region can complete their flowering stage in undera twelve hour light regime the flowering is only triggered in the plant after thoroughly completing vegitave growth however this can be impractical for indoor growers as growth is slower under an 18 hour light period and flower induction takes longer equatorial cannabis plants evolved in regions where the growing season is mush hotter than central asian regions and as a consequence these plants are not as resistant to mold attacks the buds of a cannibus sativa dominant plant give the user more of a high up feeling than indica strains.

Cannibus Indica plants are charachterized by broad maple like leaves and tight bud formations these plants originate from northern india and the area formally known as persia the growing conditions in the mountainous regions of asia can be demandingfor vegitation and cannabis indica plants have evolved into a hardy variety that matures early and generally shows a moderate level of resistance to a mold attack mature plants will yeild heavy resinous flowers and are thus ideal for an indoor grow op due to their shorter stature and high THC consentration the buds of a cannabis indica plant tend to have a more lethargig almost narcotic body high and can be quit sedating to the user.

Cannabis Ruderalis is a variety native to russiaand eastern europe its cold andharsh growing conditions have produced a very tough hardy plant characterized by its early flowering and very different leaf structure almost as narrow as a pencil and short and thick these plants tend to produce a small yeild compared to a sativa or indica plant however when hybridized with idica it produces a tough mold resistant and early flowering indoor plant ideal for new growers.
