    Scary places to hang out

Hey there folks me and a friend where talking last night about spoky places in Dallas. You know all those scary places you and your friends talk about going to when your in highschool and stuff. Seems like every school has their own place like the woods where the devil worshippers hang out and slaugther unsuspecting kids, or the old haunted house etc.

From the area I grew up we had several

Darsey's grave, supposedly a little girl that died tragedicly and if you went in the old grave yard at midnight in Murphy you could see her ghost. Too bad we never saw her, seems the local cop knew the story and liked to hang out there around midnight to bust tanked up teenagers......

Then there was Ranch 111 in Garland, devil worshippers supposedly hung out there kidnapping and doing all kinds of nasty things to unsuspecting teenagers partying in the woods. You where supposed to be able to go there and find cows hanging in trees and stuff. Now its a golf course with 200k dollar houses all around it......LOL

Down the road was a place called the house. It was the foundation of an old house the cops supposedly burned down after catching all the devil worshippers in full swing. Not too scarry but great place for a bonefire and a lots of beer.

I was wondering if the rest of you Texans had any similar stories.

I grew up in the FM/Lewisville area and there was an old wooden bridge out in the boonies. It was called "Goat Man's Bridge". It was supposedly where the devil worshipers gathered to do their sacrifices.

We'd go out there and get smashed.

There is a confederate graveyard near joe pool lake. I went there at night once and I'll never go back. I heard what sounded like screams and gunshots off in the distance. It was creepy.

    Howdy Nikita,

Wow..that's cool..we had a similar bridge near Mineral Wells Lake, where we went to party at,and it was called Goatman's bridge too..lol. The legend of the goatman is still alive and well,I see..lol. This was back in the early 70's..and I think that when we thought that we heard the goatman in the woods, that it was actually a panther that had a den in the area..panthers can make some really wierd sounds, like the sound of a woman screaming-or a baby crying..add darkness, being stoned and drunk, and ya got some freaked out kids..lol.

Just in case-I try to stay out of the deep woods at night-I tell you what !

We also have some old, scarey graveyards and some other old, creepy places, along with devil worshippers. I had a very scarey experience at an old graveyard one night, when my uncle and I,went out there late at night and as we were driving around, the steering wheel was suddenly ripped loose from my uncle's hands and we both watched in horror - as it spun rapidily and veered us right towards an old oak tree ! Talk about crapping little green apples-I tell you what ! We hauled it out of there and never went back ! lol

    Have a good one !

Torog cracks me up every time, crapping little green apples huh??????????? Man I like a good scare as much as the next person, but damn that sounds like it would hurt.........LOL

Since you mentioned Mineral Wells Ill have to through in I recently was over in that area and love it. Its some really beautiful country. Weatherford was pretty cool too. They have an old town square with a really impressive city hall building. Being from the Dallas side of town its amazing how much the terrian changes just an hour or two to the west. You just gotta love Texas.

    Howdy Nikita,

That's because-it didn't pop off..but it did spin on it's own..and this was in a Ford galaxie 500 without power-steering. ( que Twilight Zone music) If you've ever driven a car without power steering, you'd know that it becomes difficult to turn the wheel at low speeds,we were just creeping along,so steering was at maximum resistance..not long after this event,my uncle, who was driving the car, committed suicide..I don't think that this event triggered his suicide though,he had other issues tormenting him.

    Have a good one ...

Oh, Ok....yes I understand how it is with no power steering at a low speed. Sorry about your Uncle.

    Scary places to hang out

how about scary work places? I work the night shift at a factory located beween two gravyards and have seen and experienced some weird stuff. Tables lifting off the ground, someone or thing pulling your hair or tapping you on the shoulder. Scales turning on and off and the like. Kind of freaky when your the only one in the factory except for the gaurds at the front desk.............spooky!!!
