mud, i agree to an extent
while it is true that fighting will only cause more negativity, either now or in the long run, your completely right in that sometimes you have no choice
IMO, it will always cause more bad than good, any good martial artist will tell you that violence is ALWAYS a last resort, no matter how dominant of a fighter they are.... then again there will be times when one is confronted with crazy people who won't listen to logic, or some other strange situation leaving them with no other choice but to fight
going after somebody because they were talking shit about you, 50bag, is not one of those situations[align=center]\"You are in a constant state of learning, and life itself is your teacher.\" -Bruce Lee

fighting techniques Help
Oh yeah, I fight fair but if I get a person on the ground I'll do as much damage as humanely possible until I can get a person unconscious. Stomping, kneeing, kneel on chest and throw hooks to face, that sort of thing. The way I see it, anyone conscious is still a threat.
I took a lot of Tae Kwon Do, but I quit and all I can remember is how to throw all my weight behind a punch/kick. 230 lbs behind a kick/punch can cause some havoc on a person's chest...

hehehe ... very true that is
however, kung fu taught us that if you can close your opponents centerline, power becomes less of an issue

also i tend to disgree on that one penguin, if someone is awake, but busted to shit, they will have fun just trying to get back up, letalone come after you again
kicking someone while thier down falls into fighting dirty in my book.. .there are many ways to keep someone down and remain dominant without causing excessive damage[align=center]\"You are in a constant state of learning, and life itself is your teacher.\" -Bruce Lee

When I say fight, I do mean fairly now Lol. I think if you have to fight dirty...well you shouldn't be fighting at all. Dirty fighting should ONLY be done if the other person does it first. If the other person throws dirt in your eyes, I say throw mud in their eyes, push them to the ground, and make them eat dirt.

I said beating until their unconscious. I didn't say anything about permanent damage.
If this was someone who had done a serious crime to me, I'd cripple them for life and leave them to live a shadow of a life.

fighting techniques Help
I don't fight because I don't want to be fought. I only fight if my life or dignity is on the line (and if it can't be solved with words).

im gonna save myself the effort of disagreeing because we aren't talking about something serious.. we are talking about a couple of kids shit talking, a silly reason to fight in the first place
beating someone unconscious CAN cause permanent damage, it may be unlikely, but it can happen... so until humans evolve to have eyes capable of doing an instant MRI, im gonna continue to say there are better ways of keeping someone down
if you have dominated the fight, there is no reason to cause ANY damage that you don't have to, i would let a fight go on as long as it had to or as long as i could without doing anything drastic
the longer the fight lasts with one person dominating, the bigger the blow is to the losers ego, it is way worse to lose a fight to someone who appeared to be hardly trying, than to get the living shit kicked outta you by someone who was in a blind rage.. the ability to not lose ourselves to anger is what separates us from animals :twocents:[align=center]\"You are in a constant state of learning, and life itself is your teacher.\" -Bruce Lee

fighting techniques Help
Hey, don't get me wrong. I'll try to reason with someone but if it comes down to it I will fight to protect myself. I won't start a fight cuz I hate fighting. The fists flying at my head and punching someone else then the people the next day asking you who won....its enough to drive yea mad. I was only in 4 fights in my life. I didn't start any of them. 3 of the fights I got jumped...so its hard to talk your way out of that Lol. and the other one he kicked me in the back FROM BEHIND o I started punching him, and I was only walking pass in the hallway...I still donno why he hit me Lol.
