I have been smoking for 2 years and a bit, and i was wondering if weed, actually contains the same heart problems agents as ciggarettes do. Sometimes after i hit up a huge sess, my heart aches, its not like a sharp pian, but rather an ache, like you'd get in your stomach, any idea what could be causing this? Probably lack of oxygen circulating the the heart(oh wait, can't that turn into a heart attack?)

if you already have a heart problem like high blood pressure, mitral valve prolapse etc... it can worsen the symptoms...
heart attacks happen when one has very high blood pressure over time, when this happens the arteies narrow and the heart stops because it is unable to recieve the oxygen it needs...

go to your doctor or to a cvs and check your blood pressure, i think this is what your feeling... do you get dizzy and or light headed? panics?

hate to say it but if you continue feeling this way after smoking you need to stop or slow down because weed effects everyone differently as well as mentally... your mind has alot of power over the rest of your body

weed DOES NOT cause lung cancer

yes, you are inhaling carcinogens by smoking, but your lungs can handle it and expel all that nasty excess stuff you get by smoking it. if you live in a city, your lungs are doing this on a daily basis.

nicotine (amongst other ADDED chems) is the primary cancer causing agent in tobacco

studies (as old as 1974) have shown mj to slow and inhibit growth of tumors, quite the opposite of causing cancer

if you live in a major city, you inhale the cig smokers equivalent of a pack and half a day in carcinogens, you don't get cancer like a cig smoker because you arent inhaling nicotine. nicotine, opon entering the lungs, takes a white blood cell and stops all cell respiration, temporarily. putting the cell in a 'suspended animation' state. over time, cells can go into this state permanently, becoming cancerous or 'rogue cells'. they then go out into the bloodstream from the lungs, this is why cig smokers end up with cancer in some very odd places other than the lungs.

mj, not containing nicotine, does not have this effect, in fact, the effects of mj are basically the exact opposite of tobacco in almost every capacity. for example, mj is shown to stimulate the cardiovascular and dialate blood vessels, where tobacco constricts blood vessels.

fuck cancer anyway, when you die you die, the only drawback i get from weed is SCHIZOPHRENIA. My older brother was diagnosed with it when he was 17, thank fuck he sorted his head out after some treatment. It really fucks your head up, my brother use to randomly freak out if someone turned on the television, or the radio - he was so paranoid he thought everybody was talking about him behind his back & on the news etc.. He'd go to the neighbours house & accuse them of spying on him & by this time my parents were just freaking out - they had no idea hed been taking high doses of THC for 5/6 years. Id prefer to get cancer & eventually die than have my mind mangled so badly that i need help to do normal everyday things for the rest of my life.

schizophrenia may show physical signs that it is there, but it is not induced by outside forces. your brother was previousely mentally unstable before he started smoking pot.

and hash does not kill either... hash has the same active ingredient, being the many cannibinoid compounds that are in mj.. .just highly concentrated

cannabinoids act on a certain set of receptors in your brain, and there is an extremely low concentration of those receptors around the brain stem, making lethal doses of cannabinoid compounds like THC literally impossible to achieve

Schizophrenia usually strikes people in their late teens/early 20's. It is not caused by weed. Causes are not fully understood, but there is a genetic component, it tends to run in families.

feel your heartbeat next time you hold a hit, it goes crazy when you start to headrush... but this probably more good than bad. i remember my doca always telling me to get lots of cardiovascular exercixe. it cleans out all the fat and cholesterol that can cause a heart attack. and like any muscle, if you exercise it, it becomes stronger
