Regular lighters don't work as well as a torch lighter b/c it doesn't get hot enough to combust the chemical salvinorum a.
Just trust me on this one.
I usually take two good solid hits- and its enough to send me into Salvia World for a good ten minutes.

I've always gotten effects with just a bic and holding the flame to the Salvia as I inhale. Maybe a Torch would be more convenient for some, but it's not needed for me. :thumbsup:

I'm sure it 'worked', but you just won't get the same effects from a Bic. Its science man. When you use a Bic- your not combusting all of the Salvinorum A, the Bic just doesn't get hot enough. For all of your Salvinorum A to combust your lighter has to reach at least 464 degrees, thats 100 degrees hotter than it takes to burn cannabis. So thats why it takes the hotter direct flame from a butane torch to combust everything.

You're probably right... the first time I tried Salvia I used a torch and it sent me to the magical land of Narnia for a little while. Ever since then I haven't used a torch lighter simply because I haven't ever thought about getting one. I know it works without one though... but maybe if I used one at this point I'd go farther then ever before. SCARY!

sounds to me like you're not doing something right, becuase you did get an effect off of it that seems to be very common, laughing... just cuz it didnt' hit you the first time don't underestimate it.... it's better to waste and not trip than to miss judge and be sent into an uncontrollable high... i would get a torch lighter, pack a decent sized hit (keep in mind with a torch lighter this shit burns fast, my bowl freshly packed with weed lasts a good 10-12 hits when it's half way, half way wtih salvia and a torch lighter it lasts one hit, and it's completely cashed) and hit it slow, but hard at the same time (hard to explain) keeping the flame of the torch on it at all times, and hold for 30 seconds...and if it doesn't work load up more in the next bowl, or take consecutive hits the size you packed the first time.

There is a few things why it didn't work. For one, you did 1 hit, that will do jack shit. To get the full effect of salvia, the best is take a nice, HUGE rip, hold it in for about 10sec. and take another rip, release, and try and take one more(if you can), and you will feel the effects.

Another is, maybe it wasn't really 20x, maybe it was just 5x, or just the leaf. The first time I did 5x I felt next to nothing. I bought some 10x about a month ago, and I have about 3 big rips from a small, wodden pipe I bought, and man......I am flying!! Fucked up.

So...try again.

when i do it, i wouldn't be able to make the second hit.... as soon as i exhale the first hit i'm gone.... i don't think i'd even realize how to operate a pipe/bong and a lighter at that point...
