how long will fresh seeds keep?

yes...how long can we strore mj seeds? and what is the best method? can we freeze them?

it just happened that i have now more than enough seeds than what i need. i may have to store some for a least six months before i could plant them.

Keep seeds in lower comparment of your refrigerator .

you don't need to refrigerate them... it probably won't hurt if ya want to though, i dunno

i store my seeds in a cool, dry, dark place... just like you would store bud.... seeds will keep for a long time by themselves, only a very small percentage will lose viability over the years... in 6 months they will be just as good as they are now or 2 years from now or even much longer

hmmm. that`s encouraging to know they keep that long. it`s just that i live in tropics, with 30-35 degrees celsius most time of the year and hovering at 50-70 percent humidity. we get to 90 % humidity every now and then.

maybe a keep them inside a dry jar in a fridge?
a friend told me we could freeze them??????? it maybe a foolish idea. lols.

put the seeds in an air-tight mason jar, ad some rice to absorb moisture and stick the jar in the fridge.

you can freeze them, but every time you thaw / refreeze there is potential for damage

even in the tropics, an airtight container with some rice stored in a dark drawer will keep seeds just as long.. just use more rice than there is seeds due to the excess humidity, but if the jar isnt opened that much then humidity outside wont be much of an issue

Good advice :thumbsup: . I agree with you. I believe your seeds can't really dry out unless it's really hott heat or if there just crappy seeds
