No; it's just proper form to quote whom you are posting a comment to so they know. Many people post in the same thread so using the quote is how we can post an answer or response to one person and they know. Avoids confusion.

I have written plenty of post in fact well over 2,200. I'm not sure why you are so hostel to me. I was polite & courteous to you and just trying to answer your question for you.
