How long should you hold in the smoke?

I've heard many things like all the THC is absorbed after 5 - 8 seconds.

Personally I like to hold it in as long as I can but I find myself smoking alone alot more than I used to and I get mad as I watch my joint slowly burn away as I'm holding in.

When i dont hold it in long i get a shitty high and it doesn't last long or, get this, ill forget im high! i always hold it in for about 5-10 seconds and i get a nice not-in-this-world high and i LOVEEEE ITTT! :stoned:

if i don't hold in for more than 5 secs, i don't get high for the first few minutes but then it hits me all of a sudden and it lasts about the same time

i just never completely let out all the smoke i just take the rip, inhale really fast, get ready to next rip, make some room by puffing, then take another rip and repeat until bowl or jay is caput.

my friends always ghost their hits. i think it's kinda pointless. i just hold mine in for about 5-8 seconds.

Well I usually hold in for about at least 5 seconds if I can. But I know what you mean watching it burn away, sometimes I find I don't hold in as long as I should, but I figure since its just me, I can get more weed smoke and THC then if I was with others and they have the joint.
