    Perlite question..

    Well my bag came with soil/perlite ..but not enough..is their a difference in mixing it in with the soil or just putting it on the top of the soil?

    yes, there is

    perlite is meant to increase aeration in the soil, or how much air will get to the roots .. so just putting it on top of the soil won't do any good

    Perlite question..

    He's right you need to mix it through out your dirt. 50/50 mix is a good it's hard to over water with that mix. You do need room in the catch bucket there will be a lot of run off but tha't the idea.
