i think, by law, it is legal to do random drug testing (in schools...).

testing isn't cheap, it's $25 per test ( piss test ) at a lab

btw, drug testing IS NOT a violation of the right to pursue happiness, though itshould be , it IS a violation of your 4th amendment right against an unreasonable search

if you're a minor, i believe that they need permission from your parents, however since it is a private school, there is a chance that your parents have already consented if it was in the fine print on something that they signed upon your admission

testing any and all students at random is nearly unheard of, athletes maybe, but general student body no... if they try it i would make sure you know just exactly why they think they are allowed to do so, be sweet and polite, it will make them more irritated if they have no reason to get hostile with you. get all the documentation regarding how and why they are allowed to do it, and even if they can test you, you will have bought yourself a couple days, which can make a big difference

exactly right on the tests are not cheap.. most school don't want to spend any $$ that they don't have to... in short, even if they technically CAN test you, there is little chance that they actually WILL, unless they think they have good reason to. you're going to run into alot of people who think they know everything, but in actuality don't know shit about shit, more often then not, these people are in positions of authority, so the best you can do is disagree politely and let it go when they affirm that you're wrong... ignore him, you know you're right, you'll never change his mind... arguing with him is only going to make life harder for you.

i dont think so... it was ieleagle for the school to send me to go have a piss test done just because they cought me with a pack of ciggerets, but didnt talk to any lawer type ppls until it was to late.

but if they get no money from any goverment then maybe they can.
