Hoods reflect light sure but they also reflect heat back to the plants as well so there is a balance that needs to be found using hood reflectors. It's a matter of working smarter not harder.
I've heard the lesser expensive reflectors can benefit from more reflection such as adding mylar. Now I know that it doesn't melt, It might come in handy to know that someday. For now I'll keep it on my walls. Thanks for the input.
