Do you even know what brain activity and neurological pathways are, the same actions that go on naturally all around you anyway, senses are caused by the chemical breakdown of certain chemicals (i.e. photopsin, for the eye) that produces a release of electric energy, which opens a special type of gate on the membranes of cells, such as the soma, this causes an influx of sodium ions, this disrupts equilibrium, and causes an action potential, all the while the protein that controls this mechanism is sensitive, dependent on the existing charges of the inside of the cell, when a time has passed (usually milliseconds) proteins close somewhere on the cell, and other types allowing other charged chems come inelectromagnetic field lines traversing a wire (axon), that produce a change in voltage at a synapse, which triggers the release of a chemical (from the mechanism explained above) to be moved across the neuron due to the effect of the action potential, charges doin what they do moving according to what they are mysteriously attracted to by nature. Then the breakdown of this chem at the postsynaptic neuron (the receivin end) starts the entire cycle again, there are millions upon billions of these connecting points, and dependin on which axons are stimulated will decide which path to which part of the brain it will take. This is the same for all animals, humans see in the colour that they do because of the trichromatic mechanism of the brain, but this in turn is due to the chemicals present in the sense cells that line the retina of the eye. Colour blind ppl are missing some of these chems, so some are dichromatic (all wavelengths of light are matched up by 2 primary colours, instead of three like trichromatics) but there are certain types of butterflies which are pentachromatic. Does this sound like a cold answer for you, this sounds like an amazing orchestra of movements to me that even with lil understanding you can understand the simple mechanism behind the complexity, what are ppl lookin for when they try and explain there own consciousness? What do you want the something else to be supernatural? the way the body works is all because of existin laws of nature, and only because it was built in this certain way was why we experience the way we do. How much more supernatural you wanna get?

Are we more then just intuition? Maybe...maybe the body is just the physical form..who knows i cant say for sure.

Back to the animal thing tho. Apes have 95% our DNA. The other 5% that we dont share with them makes us so incredibly different and advanced. The difference in DNA between humans is like 0.0089%, which is enough to change skin colour, hair, eyes, etc. So 5% would diffinately make a big change.
